A delegation of Japanese and European Yamaha management recently visited four UK dealerships to carry out market research and discuss market trends in the United Kingdom.
Led by divisional manager, YME product planning, Mr Tomohisa Tsukamoto, the group of five ambassadors were taken on a tour of northern dealers by UK Power Products manager Gareth Sloane.
The dealerships visited were Frank Gibson ATV, Carrs Billington, Stirlings Powersports and J&S Montgomery.
Gareth Sloane said, “It was an honour to have senior members of the YME team visit us in the UK and meet our dealers directly. We believe this shows Yamaha Motor’s commitment to understanding local markets and working closely with dealers to provide the best sales care and service.”
The group are currently considering future models and developments to the Yamaha range.
“With such diversity in our range it is important to discuss with dealers what requests they are receiving from our customers. By learning more about user expectations we, and our colleagues overseas, can help to develop solutions that will better fit the UK market,” said Gareth.
“Yamaha has a network of dedicated and committed dealers. Our colleagues were able to see Yamaha products in action by visiting farms and meeting the families that depend on our machines. The diverse needs of British farmers was further demonstrated by seeing a Yamaha Viking operating on both wheels and tracks,” he added.
The market research exercise carried out during the trip included an evaluation of current models and the opportunity to collate dealer and customer feedback to ascertain what could be added to the existing range in the future.
