Scott Grieve, marketing manager at dealership GGM Group, was taken ill at work last Friday, July 10th 2026, and despite the best efforts of the company's first aider and the ambulance crew, passed away that afternoon. The company are deeply shocked and saddened by his loss.
Scott had worked for GGM / PSD Groundscare for 12 years and was responsible for organising many of the company's shows, events and other marketing activities as well as many staff social events throughout the year.
Chris Gibson, GGM's managing director, said, "Our thoughts are with Scott's wife Grace and their boys Zach and Theo as they come to terms with their loss."
He continued, "The loss of Scott to us all as a friend and work colleague is very painful but we are very fortunate to have a close and strong team and we will support each other and Grace and their two sons through this - and when the time is right, we will do something special in memory of Scott.
"Hilary and I want to personally recognise and thank the team at Colne for their calm, caring, and professional response to a terrible situation. I never want another Friday afternoon like that again. It was tragic.
"We don't know what happened, that will be determined by a postmortem but I'm taking some comfort from the fact that nobody could have acted faster or done any more.
"We had our first aider with him immediately and paramedics on site within 5 minutes and the air ambulance (who we'd been fundraising for the last couple of years) within 20. Sadly, all to no avail.
"The reaction from our supplier and dealer partners has been incredibly supportive, and the messages of condolence have helped us deal with his sad passing.
"At times like this I think it makes us all reflect on how fragile life is and what is important. "
GGM said they would share in due course the details of Scott’s funeral arrangements for those who wish to attend.
