Segway Powersports has entered the UK ATV market as a new player and the company has announced that they are looking to build a dealer network for their range of vehicles.
Hayes Machinery, based in South Molton, Devon, were one of the first dealerships to receive one of the manufacturer's vehicles this week, and have released a video showing off its capabilities.
Following a test drive, owner James Hayes describes the Snarler AT6 570cc ATV as "..proper awesome. I'm lost for words."
Segway, who are probably best known up until now for producing the iconic self-balancing scooters, announced back in December, as they entered the sector, that they had launched the first hybrid powertrains for the powersports market. They have two available, firstly the PHP (Paralleled Hybrid Powertrain), a 570cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke, DOHC engine with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. Secondly, the ERHP (Extended Rande Hybrid Powertrain) that is equipped with 1000cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder, 4-stroke, 8 valved, DOHC engine with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor.
In a statement, the manufacturer said, "Segway Powersports has set the goal of becoming a top leader in the Powersports Industry. This vision can only be achieved by building and partnering to develop a strong and profitable Segway Powersports dealer network."
On launch, the company has three vehicles available, the Snarler ATV, Fugleman side-by-side utility vehicle, and Villain sports side-by-side.
