MORRIS CORFIELD OPEN NEW BRANCH

One of the west of England’s largest agricultural machinery dealership’s, Morris Corfield has opened a new purpose-built branch near Hereford.

The family owned business is a main agent for CLAAS, and one of their longest established dealerships having sold their first CLAAS machine, a trailed SUPER 500 combine, in 1963. Based at Broseley in Shropshire, Morris Corfield employs over 60 people working out of four branches serving the west of England and Welsh borders.

The new Hereford branch at Ocle Pychard is on a prominent site alongside the main A465 Bromyard to Hereford road. The new development makes this new branch one of the most modern dealerships in the region and has been built to replace the dealer's far smaller Docklow premises near Bromyard, which the company had outgrown.

“We have been looking for the right site for a number of years. This site really is ideal in all respects and will enable us to provide our customers with a far better service,” says managing director Norman Duppa. “Its location will make it far more accessible for customers but will also be logistically easier for us. Just as importantly it gives us a purpose-built building that provides our staff with a bright, modern work environment, which is important if we are provide the level of service our customers expect.”

The new branch sits on a 2 acre site, providing plenty of space for the display and storage of machinery. In addition to offices and a sizeable shop area, stocking a wide range of tools, clothing and agricultural sundries, the new 80 x 100 ft building also incorporates a far larger parts storage area than at Docklow and a 5-bay workshop, capable of easily accommodating the largest CLAAS machinery.

Looking forward, a further benefit of the site is the availability of good, high speed broadband. This is not only necessary for everyday communication, but essential for online parts ordering systems and the future use of cutting-edge remote diagnostics of CLAAS machinery which is being adopted by Morris Corfield.

“I wish Morris Corfiled every success with their new Hereford branch,” says Trevor Tyrrell, CEO of CLAAS UK. “As one of our largest and long established family-owned dealerships, this investment is testament to their commitment both to the service and support they offer their customers, but also to their own staff. It is a great statement by the company in its future growth and is to be congratulated.
