On Friday 5th July 2024 Grantham, Lincolnshire-based dealership, R C Setchfield Ltd, announced they are to close their doors for good.
In a statement the Setchfield family said, "After over forty years in business, it is with deep regret that we announce that we have decided to close down the business, entirely due to the imminent retirement of Richard Setchfield."
The family confirmed that the company is solvent and the staff will be supported during this difficult time.
The dealership featured in Service Dealer's news pages twice last year. Once in April when they took on the Merlo range, and again in July when they were appointed for Deutz Fahr.
In their message to customers Setchfields confirmed they will continue to finish any workshop jobs that are currently being worked on but said they cannot take on any new tasks. They also said any job that has been booked in but not started, they will not be able to facilitate.
In terms of parts, customers will be able to collect any that have been previously ordered by their team, however they will not be placing any future non-stock customer specific orders. And for a period, customers will be able to visit their parts showroom and buy items off the shelf.
They also confirmed that machinery and equipment currently in stock that has been sold and paid for will be delivered as planned, whilst the sale of remaining stock machinery and equipment will be advertised in due course.
The Setchfield family signed off by saying, "It is not a decision we have taken lightly. We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support over the years."
