Following last week's news that Cornwall Farm Machinery is to relinquish the John Deere franchise at the end of October, the dealership has released a statement explaining their decision.
Manager, Rob Hattam said in a message to customers posted on their website, "As many of you will be aware, we at Cornwall Farm Machinery Ltd have made the decision to terminate our Dealer Contract with John Deere. This decision has not been taken lightly, it has come about because John Deere’s Dealer of Tomorrow strategy is to encourage dealerships to grow by amalgamating with each other in order to form bigger companies that could possibly manager their area of responsibility more effectively and in turn service customers well.
"It has been a pleasure working with John Deere. However, we at Cornwall Farm Machinery Ltd have decided to remain independent with the ability to make our own way and that is what has influenced this decision.
"Our intention is to continue to supply the service that we are known for and to look after our customers old and new."
Rob also confirmed that since making the decision they have been awarded the franchises for both Case IH and Krone for Cornwall.
