The exemplary academic achievements of a Harper Adams agricultural engineering graduate have been marked with the 2022 New Holland Agriculture trophy.
BEng (Hons) Agricultural Engineering graduate George Smith (pictured above left with New Holland harvester area sales manager Steve Belcher), 24, from Kidlington in Oxfordshire, was awarded the 2022 New Holland Agriculture Best BEng Hons Agricultural Engineering Student trophy.
New Holland Agriculture awards the prize each year to a Harper Adams graduate who has proven his or herself to be an outstanding student whilst completing the BEng Agricultural Engineering course.
New Holland harvester area sales manager Steve Belcher presented George with his prize at the Harper Adams Graduation ceremony earlier this Autumn.
Senior engineering lecturer at Harper Adams, Graham Higginson said, “The New Holland Agriculture Trophy marks exemplary academic achievement. This is based on the student’s whole academic performance across their modules, as well as their final year Honours Research Project.
“George achieved outstanding marks across the suite of modules studied and securing the New Holland Agriculture Trophy recognises his performance not only in his academic studies, but also his wider success - such as the development of products which are currently available across Europe during his placement year with a manufacturer of agricultural and industrial materials.
“The award of the New Holland Agriculture Trophy reinforces the close working relationship between Harper Adams University and New Holland, who are a major employer of Harper Adams University placement students as well as graduates.
Pat Smith, UK & ROI business director for New Holland Agriculture said, “New Holland Agriculture congratulates George Smith on his well-deserved engineering award win. We are proud to support Harper Adams University who are successfully educating the agricultural ambassadors of the future.”
