DEALERS ANNOUNCE THEIR COVID-19 MEASURES

Service Dealer thought it might be helpful for dealers to see how other dealerships around the country are reacting to the COVID-19 situation.

Over the past couple of days, some dealers have been publishing on social media and their own websites, the measures they will be taking in their business.

Obviously as the situation and government advice changes, so might what dealers can and want to do in terms of providing a service for their customers - but at the moment, below is a sample of statements issued by a selection of larger dealers.

PEACOCK & BINNINGTON

The agricultural machinery dealers, with branches across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire posted the detailed information below:

VINCENT TRACTORS & PLANT

Cornwall dealership posted the following statement on Twitter, "Our branches are open for business as usual with additional hygiene measures in place in line with Government guidelines. Our engineers will be taking extra precautions on site and parts can be mailed out or arrange collections from our external pick up points."  They followed this up with a more detailed post on their website here.

LISTER WILDER

A lovley written statement from the south of England dealers, posted on their website read, "Our business was founded at the end of World War II, a period in history where the country pulled together in an unprecedented way. A similar spirit is needed as we look to manage the threat posed to society by the Coronavirus and we’re pleased to say that we’re off to a very sensible start." The statement went on to say to their customers, " . .please phone your local branch if there is anything you need. If you or your family are experiencing self-isolation then special arrangements can still be made – parts can be delivered at no charge, machines can still be safely serviced and if you speak nicely then we will even drop off any groceries or other essentials…" You can read the whole statement here.

 

T H WHITE

In a statement on their website, T H White, said, "To minimise the risk of transmission we are suspending visits by our staff to customers unless they have made a prior appointment. For all divisions without public sales counters or stores, we ask you to assist us by not attending our sites unless by prior appointment, authorised by a manager." Read the whole statement here.

HAMILTON ROSS GROUP

The dealer group in Scotland have posted some detailed information on their website, breaking down the precautions they are taking to reduce risk and minimise business interruption acorss their Service, Parts and Sales departments. Read their statement here.
